Pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford is back to conquer a new weight class.
Crawford returns to the ring on Saturday for his first fight in the junior middleweight division, challenging undefeated WBA champion Israil Madrimov in the main event of a loaded cross-promotional card at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
Crawford is a three-division world champion and has twice been undisputed, most recently becoming undisputed welterweight champion in July 2023 when he dominated former unified champion Errol Spence en route to a ninth round TKO win in the greatest fight of his Hall of Fame career.
“Realistically the next step was to do a rematch with Spence," Crawford told Matchroom Boxing. "For whatever reason it didn’t happen, so I had to move on with my career. The ultimate goal was to try to get the Canelo fight. That didn’t happen, so we went to the next best thing."

Terence Crawford fight record
Terence Crawford is 40-0 with 31 wins by knockout.
The three-division champion is undeniably one of the three best fighters in the world, with many considering him to be the pound-for-pound king. Crawford is coming off of a career best performance in an undisputed welterweight title fight against Errol Spence last summer.
Crawford-Spence was one of the most anticipated fights in all of boxing and was viewed as a 50-50 affair going in, but Crawford dismantled Spence in dominant fashion, stopping him in the ninth round to become undisputed champion in a second weight class. Crawford was previously undisputed at junior welterweight.
Crawford is ranked No. 2 pound-for-pound by ESPN and No. 3 by The Ring.
Terence Crawford age, height, weight class
Crawford is 36 and stands at 5-foot-8. He has a 74-inch reach.
Crawford will be fighting at junior middleweight (154 pounds) for the first time in his career on Saturday, after competing at welterweight (147 pounds) since 2018. Crawford began his career fighting in the lightweight (135 pounds) division.
Israil Madrimov fight record
Israil Madrimov is 10-0-1 with seven wins by knockout.
Madrimov became champion earlier this year when he won the WBA junior middleweight title by TKO in the fifth round against undefeated contender Magomed Kurbanov on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou.
The lone draw on Madrimov's record came in 2022 when his fight against Michel Soro was stopped by doctors in round three due to a cut Soro sustained. With the fight having gone less than three rounds it was ruled a draw.
Madrimov is the No. 3 ranked junior middleweight by ESPN and The Ring.
Israil Madrimov age, height, weight class
Israil Madrimov is 29 years old and stands at 5-foot-8.5 with a 68.5-inch reach.
Madrimov has spent his career in and around the junior middleweight division, with only two of his fight having taken place above the division's 154-pound weight limit. Madrimov is similarly sized to Crawford but should hold an advantage having been in the junior middleweight division for far longer.
Terence Crawford stats
Crawford has a plus/minus of +12.6, tenth best among active boxers. Crawford's output matches that of most fighters in his division, throwing 47.3 punches per round, landing 33.8% of those shots.
Power punching is where Crawford really stands out, landing an average of 10.2 power punches per round at a 46.8% rate, fourth best among active boxers. Defensively Crawford has been solid throughout his career, allowing an average of 7.8 connects per round with his opponents landing at just a 21.2% clip.
